Light My Fire! Wins Formagination International Pitch

The Italian series Light My Fire! has been selected as the winner of the Formagination at MIPFormats: The International Format Pitch.

The format comes from Axel Fiacco of BicFormats in Italy. Light My Fire! is a dating show in which contestants wear “love shirts” that light up if they are attracted to a potential partner.

In partnership with Armoza Formats, Formagination at MIPFormats: The International Format Pitch combines two major format launchpads: Formagination and MIPFormats International Pitch. Selection was based on four criteria: creativity, originality, innovation and potential for multiple seasons. Armoza Formats is offering $5,000 to the winning pitch, and up to $20,000 in development funding toward the production of a pilot. The runner-up will win a scholarship to the international Entertainment Master Class seminar.

Second place was I Need a Hero, from Israeli news anchor and journalist Lital Shemesh. The show sees five men compete in physical challenges to win the heart of a woman, who’s secretly also testing them when they think the cameras aren’t rolling.

Future Astronauts, from Miroslaw Skowron of Mediolia in Poland, won the audience choice award. The format sees a group of teenagers get astronaut training, progressing to a mission simulating life on Mars.
