First Asian Adaptation for Bake Off

BBC Studios has landed its first Asian format deal on The Great Bake Off, with the hit Love Productions series headed to Thailand.

The Thai version from APJ & CO will air on the free-to-air digital terrestrial network PPTV this summer.

“We are thrilled that the phenomenally successful The Great Bake Off has made its way onto Asian television,” said Myleeta Aga, senior VP and general manager of South and Southeast Asia at BBC Studios. “It is an incredibly loved format that has captured the hearts (and stomachs) of families, and especially the younger demographic, worldwide. Thailand is a key market for us in Asia, and we are very pleased to be working with APJ & CO to adapt The Great Bake Off for this market, and are confident of its success.”

The Great Bake Off is a fantastic format to showcase this diversity of baking in Asia, and I am looking forward to seeing how this Thai version plays out,” said Ardkit Suntornwat, managing director and executive producer of APJ & CO.
