FOX has lined up the celebrity social experiment Special Forces: The Ultimate Test (w.t.), based on Channel 4’s SAS: Who Dares Wins.

The series will see household names endure some of the harshest, most grueling challenges from the playbook of the actual Special Forces selection process. Minnow Films is producing the U.S. treatment.

Special Forces: The Ultimate Test puts celebrities you know and love through the most pure and authentic test of endurance that I have ever seen,” said Rob Wade, president of alternative entertainment and specials. “In many ways, it is more about mental strength than physical strength. It’s an eye-opening glimpse into the most intense training in the world and gives a taste of the grit and bravery our armed forces show on a daily basis, which was a life-changing experience for these celebrities.”

FOX also announced that The Masked Singer will introduce an all-new format when it returns for its eighth season on September 21. Each episode will feature several performances by intricately disguised celebrities, but for the first time ever, only one contestant will move on from each episode. The studio audience will vote for their favorite, and the singer with the least amount of votes will unmask mid-show. That celebrity will get a front-row seat in the Masked Singer VIP section to watch the rest of the competition and the second unmasking.
