BUENOS AIRES: Telefe, Eyeworks Argentina and Warner Bros. International Television Production (WBITVP) have entered a co-development deal for the production of original prime-time entertainment and reality formats for Telefe’s platforms, including its broadcast network.

The first format to debut as a result of the cooperation will roll out next year, with full development starting in 2015. All co-developed formats and finished products based on these formats will be distributed globally by WBITVP.

Tomas Yankelevich, Telefe’s global content and international business director, said: “The agreement marks the first strategic partnership of both companies. We’ve been working with Eyeworks for years, always with success, working on their shows or third-party ones. Now, with Warner Bros. in the picture as distributor, is the right time to co-create our own content, fulfilling the demand of the international market.”

Ricardo Pichetto, co-managing director of Eyeworks Argentina, added: “This agreement is the result of many years of working with Telefe and we are proud of their confidence in our creativity. We already started developing some ideas together and the creative cooperation between the companies is excellent.”

Ronald Goes, the executive VP and head of international television at WBITVP, remarked: “The new cooperation has started incredibly well and the two companies have already identified a very strong slate of new formats for production in 2016. With Warner Bros. as distributor for the newly devised formats, it will bring immediate global reach to showcase and export the new lineup of Argentinean formats worldwide.”
