Eva Beckman, currently commissioner for arts and culture, factual, religion and events at SVT, will now become program director.<\/p>\n
Beckman has been a reporter, editor and producer for many SVT programs and has hosted numerous arts and culture programs, including Kulturfr\u00e5gan Kontrapunkt<\/em>, N\u00e4sta Nybroplan<\/em> and Centrum<\/em>. She has also been head of the arts and culture department at SVT, during which time she launched the literature program Babel<\/em>.<\/p>\n As program director, Beckman will be responsible for all SVT\u2019s entertainment, arts and culture, drama, children\u2019s and youth, and lifestyle output. She will also join the SVT management board.<\/p>\n SVT\u2019s general director, Hanna Stj\u00e4rne, said: \u201cEva Beckman is brave and has a strong sense for good programming. She has the power, knowledge and judgement needed. I am delighted that Eva has accepted the role as program director and that she will find tomorrow\u2019s classic programs.\u201d<\/p>\n Beckman added: \u201cI cannot imagine a more exciting job than this one.
