Sliced<\/em>, which follows a down-on-his-luck pizza delivery driver in South London, is returning to UKTV\u2019s comedy channel Dave for a second season.<\/p>\n

BAFTA-nominated Samson Kayo (Famalam<\/em>), who plays the main character Joshua, will return to co-write and star in the new 6×40-minute season. The new season of\u00a0Sliced<\/em> will air on Dave later this year.<\/p>\n

The first three-episode season was watched by over 1.7 million viewers. The series is written by Kayo and Phil Bowker (PhoneShop<\/em>) and produced by Lovely Electricity.<\/p>\n

Kayo said: \u201cWe go again! I\u2019m so excited to be back on Dave with series two. Last series was just a taster, now it\u2019s go time! I\u2019m looking forward to creating some more explosively funny and authentic stories with this amazingly talented team.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pete Thornton, UKTV\u2019s head of scripted, said: \u201cSamson and Phil make for a formidable creative duo, the Batman and Robin of the writer\/performer\/just writer comedy world, and they are supported by an extraordinary cast of established talent and rising stars. This is a show that really hits the sweet spot for Dave, we love it with a passion and we can\u2019t wait to make more.\u201d<\/p>\n

Luke Hales, Dave\u2019s channel director, said: \u201cLaunching Sliced<\/em> was one of our favorite moments of 2019, we loved working with the brilliant and talented Samson Kayo and Phil Bowker. The fact that the show is loosely based on Samson\u2019s upbringing in South London makes it really modern, authentic and relatable, and the fact that it is co-written by him means it is guaranteed to be very, very funny. Dave is committed to U.K. comedy and in recent years has established itself as the best place to come in the U.K. for fresh, modern and brilliantly funny comedy, Sliced<\/em> speaks loudly to this ambition.\u201d<\/p>\n
