Sky and WarnerMedia have expanded their long-standing partnership to include new programming and co-production agreements.<\/p>\n
The two companies have extended their programming deals across Sky\u2019s European markets\u2014meaning Sky and NOW TV customers will be able to access content from HBO and Warner Bros., as well as from Turner channels, for years to come. Sky and HBO first agreed to an output deal in 2010, making Sky the home of HBO in Europe. The newly expanded deal extends the pay-TV rights for Warner Bros. first-run feature films. The deal also includes more on-demand content under the Cartoon Network and Boomerang brands.<\/p>\n
Additionally, Sky and WarnerMedia agreed to extend their co-production partnership in a new deal that will see Sky Studios and HBO Max collaborate on more original content. Sky and HBO’s co-production partnership has brought about Chernobyl<\/em>, which picked up ten wins at last month\u2019s Emmy Awards. Sky and HBO\u2019s latest co-production is Catherine the Great<\/em>, starring Helen Mirren.<\/p>\n Building on the relationship with HBO, Sky Studios will now also work with WarnerMedia\u2019s HBO Max programming team to produce premium drama and scripted entertainment for Sky and HBO customers across Europe and beyond, as part of a multiyear coproduction deal.<\/p>\n Gary Davey, CEO of Sky Studios, said: \u201cOur partnership with HBO, and now WarnerMedia, has never been stronger as Sky continues to thrive as Europe\u2019s leading direct-to-consumer media and entertainment business.
