Conecta FICTION has revealed the finalists from its four pitching sessions, with selected projects hailing from Argentina, Chile, Spain, the Netherlands and the U.S., among others.<\/p>\n
Finalists of the Pitch Copro Series, Pitch Fundaci\u00f3n SGAE and Pitch Digiseries sessions will present their projects live at Conecta FICTION on Tuesday, June 18. Entries selected as finalists for the Pitch Clips category, a call for projects in collaboration with the Spain Writer\u2019s Guild ALMA, will be exhibited on different screens within the event venue.<\/p>\n
The winning projects will be announced on Wednesday, June 19, at 8 p.m. in the auditorium Sala de C\u00e1mara in the Baluarte, with at least one development agreement offered by TVE for projects of the Pitch Copro Series and Pitch Fundaci\u00f3n SGAE sessions. Likewise, Acorde will provide music for one project of the Pitch Digiseries session, and Arpa Abogados will offer ten hours of consulting and legal mentoring for a project presented at the Pitch Copro Series, Pitch Fundaci\u00f3n SGAE or Pitch Digiseries.<\/p>\n
The Pitch Copro Series saw 117 projects from 13 different countries, with Spain leading the pack with 48 entries. Of those, ten projects have been selected, and they are mostly drama entries mixed with thriller and crime, with several stories based on real events. The chosen finalists are: Lost Toys<\/em> (Storylab, Argentina), In Search of Spring<\/em> (Cepa Audiovisual), The Cliff<\/em> (Mediapro Chile), The Yellow Bird<\/em> (Producciones Clandestinas), The Frontier<\/em> (Filmo Estudios and Filmo sonido), The Saddest Goal<\/em> (Manufactura de Pel\u00edculas), Greed<\/em> (Lemming Film), The Mothers of Water<\/em> (El M\u00e9dano Producciones), Dolores<\/em> (Kaboga Art & Films y Ondenou Audiovisual) and 2050<\/em> (Mondo TV Iberoam\u00e9rica).<\/p>\n Three finalists have been chosen for The Pitch Fundaci\u00f3n SGAE sessions: a drama from Emilio L\u00f3pez Verd\u00fa, La Loba Dance Club<\/em>; a comedy\/mockumentary from Pepe Mac\u00edas and Carla Guimar\u00e3es, Why Did Men Disappear?<\/em>; and The Factory<\/em>, a social drama from Beatriz Garc\u00eda Al\u00f3s.<\/p>\n Malaka<\/em>, the winning project of the TVE development award in the last edition of Conecta FICTION, will close this pitching session with a presentation from its author and executive producer, Daniel Corpas, who will explain its current status.<\/p>\n The Pitch Digiseries session offers an opportunity to present projects of series designed and intended to be broadcasted on different platforms and seen through devices available to all audiences. The finalists, which are all in the comedy vein, are Spain\u2019s The P.A.<\/em> (Pecado Films) and From De Dead<\/em> (Valen Arts Para\u00edso), Peru\u2019s Syndrome<\/em> (Cinecorp), Argentina\u2019s Dead Line<\/em> (Nativa Contenidos) and Italy\u2019s The Director of Funerals<\/em> (Yanez Film).<\/p>\n With the format of clips of video between 30 seconds and two minutes in length, the five project finalists from the Pitch Clips session are all from Spain.
