The Royal Television Society (RTS) has confirmed its first batch of speakers for the RTS Cambridge Convention 2019, which will feature Chief Executive of ITV Carolyn McCall as chair.<\/p>\n
Jeremy Darroch, group chief executive of Sky, and David Zaslav, president and CEO of Discovery, will serve as the first international keynote speakers for the biennial conference. Tony Hall, director-general of the BBC; Alex Mahon, chief executive of Channel 4; Sharon White, chief executive of Ofcom; and Jeremy Wright MP, Secretary of State for digital, culture, media and sport, are also confirmed to speak, with additional names still to be announced.<\/p>\n
The RTS Cambridge Convention 2019, for which ITV is the principal sponsor, is set to take place at King\u2019s College in Cambridge, September 18-20. This year’s event is entitled “Content, Consumers, and everything in between.\u201d<\/p>\n
McCall said: \u201cThis theme reflects the much-used phrase \u2018the golden age of TV.\u2019 The abundance of content and the choice for viewers has never been so vast. Technology has meant viewers can now watch what they choose, when and how they want. This convention will explore how consumers feel about this and how media organizations\u2014whether broadcasters, OTT’s or producers\u2014are responding to these changes.”<\/p>\n
