RTL Group is combining its multiplatform network Divimove and digital storytelling label UFA X.<\/p>\n
Effective January 1, the two units will be merged into one integrated outfit for the production, aggregation and monetization of short-form video content in Europe.<\/p>\n
The combination follows the recent announcement that RTL Group has upped its shareholding in Divimove to 100 percent as of December 1. Tobias Schiwek, currently co-managing director of UFA X and chief digital officer of UFA, will become the new CEO of Divimove.<\/p>\n
Bert Habets, CEO of RTL Group, said: \u201cThe consumption of short-form video continues to grow rapidly\u2014and so do advertising and branded content revenues in the social media ecosystem.
