A man with a troubled past gets a second chance to do right by his family in Over Water<\/em>, on offer from ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE).<\/p>\n

\u201cOver Water<\/em> tells the story of how a former addict can make the wrong choices with the right intentions,\u201d says Robert Franke, the VP of ZDFE.drama.<\/p>\n

Kristina Ohlsson\u2019s STHLM Requiem<\/em> is an adaptation of a best-selling trilogy of crime novels.<\/p>\n

Another highlight from the company is JJ<\/em>, a Netflix original series. \u201cIt is the story of John Jeiver, who was kidnapped by the FARC at 13 and trained as a one-man army,\u201d says Franke. \u201cAfter the signing of the Colombian peace agreements, he escapes the jungle to Bogot\u00e1, and infiltrates a dangerous and well-connected criminal organization.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOur topics work internationally, whether in breathtaking crime series, short-form dramas or TV movies,\u201d\u00a0Franke says.<\/p>\n

The documentary series History of Weapons<\/em> uncovers the connection between the development of a new military device and the aftermath of its use. \u201cThe series tells a story about weaponry that took leading roles in the major battles in history,\u201d says Ralf R\u00fcckauer, the VP of ZDFE.unscripted. \u201cFurther, it investigates man\u2019s desperate attempts to tame the destructive power of new instruments of war.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Spying Game: Tales from the Cold War<\/em> takes a close look at the era of rising tensions between the East and West. The Truth About Franco: Spain\u2019s Forgotten Dictatorship<\/em>, meanwhile, reflects on the regime of Francisco Franco, who is regarded as one of Europe\u2019s most brutal leaders. \u201cSpain is marked by traces of his tyranny,\u201d says R\u00fcckauer. \u201cThis series casts new light on \u2018Spain\u2019s forgotten dictatorship.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cZDFE.unscripted\u2019s aim is to enhance the genre and deliver the best-quality factual programs,\u201d\u00a0R\u00fcckauer adds.<\/p>\n

Two live-action children\u2019s shows lead the slate that ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE) brings to Cannes. The first, The Athena<\/em>, tells the story of a young model whose career implodes after she complains about a famous designer treating her like an object. \u201cThe Athena<\/em> is full of super-creative, super-ambitious students\u2014photographers, graphic artists, fashion designers, jewelry makers\u2014all intent on pursuing their dreams at any cost,\u201d says Peter Lang, the VP of ZDFE.junior.<\/p>\n

The second live-action highlight from the company is The Bureau of Magical Things<\/em>, which follows the adventures of a teen girl caught up in a clash between an elf and a fairy.\u00a0\u201cZDFE.junior is definitely the number one address when it comes to successful live-action series,\u201d says Lang.<\/p>\n

On the animation side, ZDFE is showcasing Zoom\u2014The White Dolphin<\/em>, about a boy who becomes friends with a mysterious and intelligent sea creature.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very proud to be in charge of the international distribution of these series,\u201d says Fred Burcksen, the company\u2019s president and CEO.
