The new label will bring together new and established writers, performers, producers and directors in &#8220;surprising new creative partnerships,&#8221; creating returnable series for both linear broadcasters and new global platforms.<\/p>\n<p>Hare and Tortoise replaces FremantleMediaUK\u2019s scripted comedy label Retort. The new label is actively investing in rights, formats and scripts. Developments include a project that joins writer Will Smith (<em>Veep<\/em>, <em>Damned<\/em>) and visualist Richard Littler to adapt Littler\u2019s cult blog Welcome to Scarfolk. Additionally, performer Jessica Thom, also known as Touretteshero, partners with writer Georgia Pritchett (<em>Veep<\/em>, <em>The Thick of It<\/em>) and regular Touretteshero collaborator Matthew Pountney to weave a scripted series out of Jess\u2019s world. <em>Helmets<\/em> is a new comedy co-created by former policeman Dan Clark-Neal (<em>This Morning<\/em>, <em>Celebrity Big Brother<\/em>) and the comedy writing team Claire Downes, Stuart Lane and Ian Jarvis (<em>In The Long Run<\/em>, <em>The Job Lot<\/em>, <em>Carters Get Rich<\/em>). <em>The Dark Room<\/em> is an interactive comedy &#8220;anti-game show&#8221; created by comedian John Robertson.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FremantleMedia has launched a new U.K. production label, Hare and Tortoise, led by Jon Rolph and Claire Nosworthy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":350,"featured_media":8584,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[69],"tags":[506,1703],"class_list":["post-8583","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","","category-top-stories","tag-fremantlemedia","tag-hare-and-tortoise"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.7 -
