The history of a continent, starting from its first human settlers, is explored in the six-part series The Story of Europe<\/em>, which ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE) is highlighting in Cannes.<\/p>\n

Another factual highlight is History of Weapons<\/em>, which focuses on the evolution of weapon technology throughout the years. \u201cSome of the most renowned international experts in the world will explore the secrets of these weapons in a hands-on approach,\u201d says Fred Burcksen, the president and CEO of ZDFE. \u201cThese experiments will illustrate how weapons have changed the tides of history and how they have shaped human destiny.\u201d<\/p>\n

There is also Africa River Wild<\/em>, taking viewers on a journey to the rivers of Africa. \u201cOur goal is to provide a selection of unique highlights for the audiences of our clients,\u201d adds Burcksen.<\/p>\n

The ZDFE.drama catalog includes The Crimson Rivers<\/em>, a scripted series that is \u201cset in a world full of gruesome criminal cases, sadistic killers, creepy rituals and mysterious incidents,\u201d according to Burcksen. With a cast led by Olivier Marchal, Erika Sainte, Ken Duken and Nora Waldst\u00e4tten, The Crimson Rivers\u00a0<\/em>is a crime thriller, and Burcksen says that \u201cEach of the episodes remains true to the original screenplay by cult writer Jean-Christophe Grang\u00e9. The remake of his best seller remains true to the 2000 box-office hit starring Jean Reno.\u201d<\/p>\n

ZDFE is also presenting a three-part follow-up to the hit \u201950s-set miniseries Ku\u2019damm 56<\/em>. \u201cKu\u2019damm 59\u00a0<\/em>follows the women of this generation on their search for a new feminine identity,\u201d says Burcksen.<\/p>\n

Then there is Other People\u2019s Problems<\/em>, a short-form Aussie dramedy. \u201cThe\u00a0web series was originally created for ABC iview and showcases a powerhouse of Australian female creative talent,\u201d adds Burcksen.<\/p>\n

The Bureau of Magical Things<\/em>, a live-action show for children from Jonathan M. Shiff Productions, is another highlight.<\/p>\n
