The Italian Serie A league has accepted Mediapro’s offer for domestic TV rights to matches for the 2018-21 seasons for 1.05 billion euros ($1.3 billion) a year.<\/p>\n

“The offer of 1,050,001,000 euros is superior to the minimum requested in the invitation to tender,” Lega Serie A said in a statement. The Italian league had previously rejected the offers made by Sky and Mediaset at the end of January, turning down the total amount of 830 million euros.<\/p>\n

The league will now take the offer for the three seasons to the Italian antitrust authority before it can proceed with officially assigning the rights.<\/p>\n

Sky is petitioning that the bid is inadmissible, though, since Mediapro presented an offer exclusively for “independent intermediaries,” but would not operate as such since it’s a\u00a0communications group.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
