UKTV has appointed Baby Cow Productions’ Kerry Waddell as head of production.<\/p>\n
Waddell will be joining UKTV in March to lead the company’s production management team. She will report to Richard Watsham, UKTV’s director of commissioning. Waddell will have responsibility for the production of all UKTV originals, including\u00a0Judge Romesh<\/em>,\u00a0Jon Richardson: Ultimate Worrier\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Cop Car Workshop<\/em>. Her appointment comes at a time when the broadcaster has committed to upping its original programming hours by a third.<\/p>\n Waddell is currently head of production at Baby Cow, which was co-founded by Steve Coogan and Henry Normal.<\/p>\n Watsham said: “We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Kerry on quality shows such as\u00a0Red Dwarf<\/em>, Undercover<\/em> and Zapped<\/em>. Her collaborative approach and the significant experience she’s built up by working on some of the best-known shows in the U.K., positions her perfectly for the kind of ambitious projects that we have coming down the line.<\/p>\n “The scale of the role is growing constantly as we increase our spend and hours and commission across more genres than ever before.
