Sky One has commissioned from Avalon the new topical satire Re-Dub!\u00a0<\/em>(working title), featuring Alistair McGowan.<\/p>\n

On the show, McGowan will be joined by a team of established impressionists and new mimics who will re-voice a range of clips from entertainment, news, politics and sport, giving an alternate take on the most-talked-about stories of the moment. The Sky original production is a 10×30-minute series. It was commissioned by Phil Edgar-Jones, Sky\u2019s head of entertainment, and Adam MacDonald, the director of Sky One, and is set to air this year.<\/p>\n

Richard Allen-Turner, the executive producer for Avalon, said,\u00a0\u201cWe are delighted to be working with Sky on Re-Dub!<\/em>, a new comedy show that along with Russian Twitterbots, helps further conflate fake news and real reports for viewers\u2019 entertainment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Phil Edgar-Jones, the head of entertainment at Sky, added, \u201cWhen the Avalon team showed us their initial piloted pitch for Re-Dub!<\/em> I couldn\u2019t finish my crisps as we were laughing till we cried. Re-Dub!<\/em> is a gloriously silly and funny take on the world of news and celebrity from the mouth of Alistair McGowan and a host of brilliant mimics accompanying real-world footage.
