Sarah Muller, the current head of children’s at Channel 5, has been named VP of the U.K. children\u2019s and youth portfolio at Sony Pictures Television Networks (SPTN), effective in March.<\/p>\n

In her new role, Muller will be charged with leading the programming and development of SPTN\u2019s linear and AVOD kids\u2019 brands, including POP, Tiny Pop, POP MAX and the recently launched AVOD service POP FUN, along with SPTN\u2019s music channel portfolio.<\/p>\n

While at Channel 5, Muller has been responsible for the children’s brand Milkshake! She previously worked at the BBC for ten years, including as CBBC’s head of acquisitions and creative director.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Steve Hornsey will become the VP of SPTN\u2019s U.K. entertainment portfolio, which comprises such networks as Sony Movie Channel and Movies4Men, in April. He currently serves as director of general enetertainment for the U.K. and Northern Europe at Turner. Earlier in his career, her was general manager at UKTV with oversight of Watch and alibi.<\/p>\n

Hornsey and Muller will report to Kate Marsh, SPTN\u2019s executive VP for Western Europe, international networks, and will also become part of Marsh\u2019s regional senior management team.<\/p>\n

Sarah has a wealth of experience in children\u2019s and youth programming and I have no doubt she will lead our talented and passionate team to new successes.
