The channel will mark its inaugural return to free-to-air TV in Germany on December 23\u00a0with a special lineup that kicks off with three episodes of the music documentary series <em>Dare to Live<\/em>,\u00a0starring Rory Kramer and featuring A-list talent like Shawn Mendes, Martin Garrix and the Chainsmokers. <em>Dare to Live<\/em> will be followed by the local production <em>MTV Buzz<\/em>, featuring German host Uli Brase, who will be joined by prominent guests to discuss music-video highlights. In addition, <em>Top 100 Official Annual Charts<\/em> will take a look back at the most successful hits of 2017. The standard lineup will include a mix of MTV entertainment programming, in addition to 13 hours of music per day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m proud to announce the launch of MTV in the FTA space in Germany,\u201d said Raffaele Annecchino, the president and managing director of VIMN Southern &amp; Western Europe, the Middle East and Africa. \u201cMTV is a global leader when it comes to producing music and entertainment content that appeals to youth culture and we want to continue this leadership in Germany too. We saw an opportunity in the German FTA market, both in terms of audience demand for great music content and to position the brand for advertisers. The linear FTA channel and on-demand access provided by digital platforms will give audiences unparalleled access to our content.
