{"id":8116,"date":"2017-12-12T11:36:22","date_gmt":"2017-12-12T16:36:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tveurope\/european-parliament-rejects-ecs-country-origin-proposals\/"},"modified":"2017-12-12T13:53:46","modified_gmt":"2017-12-12T18:53:46","slug":"european-parliament-rejects-ecs-country-of-origin-proposals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tveurope\/2017\/12\/12\/european-parliament-rejects-ecs-country-of-origin-proposals\/","title":{"rendered":"European Parliament Rejects EC&#8217;s &#8220;Country of Origin&#8221; Proposals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>European Parliament has voted to reject a set of reforms laid out by the European Commission (EC) that threaten the territory-by-territory licensing of films and TV series across the European Union.<\/p>\n<p>Politicians voted 344 to 265 against most of the EC\u2019s so-called SatCab proposal, which aims to do away with country-by-country licensing and allow European broadcasters to air movies and TV series on their services across all E.U. countries\u2014provided they had licensed the show in their country of origin.
