French television exports\u2014including sales, presales and co-productions\u2014increased to a record high of \u20ac336 million ($404 million) in 2016, a year-on-year increase of 32 percent.<\/p>\n
The exports were driven by animation and fiction mainly. Animation accounted for 40 percent of international sales, totaling \u20ac75 million ($90 million), up 42 percent. Sales for fiction increased by 21 percent to \u20ac50 million ($60 million). Meanwhile, documentary sales registered their second highest results ever with more than \u20ac35 million ($42 million).<\/p>\n
VOD platforms accounted for 20.4 percent of all French sales in 2016, double their share in the previous year. Even still, traditional broadcasters remain the largest buyers of French TV programs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
