Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s hit comedy Fleabag<\/em> will see a second season airing on BBC Three and Amazon in 2019.<\/p>\n

The first season was adapted from Waller-Bridges\u2019 award-winning play. It centers on Fleabag, a dry-witted, angry, cash-strapped, grief-riddled, porn-watching young woman trying to come to terms with a recent tragedy. Details of the second series are currently under wraps.<\/p>\n

Fleabag<\/em> is a Two Brothers Pictures production in association with DryWrite for the BBC. Distribution rights are held by all3media international.<\/p>\n

Waller-Bridge said: \u201cI asked myself if Fleabag has more to say and frankly she hasn\u2019t shut up since. Series two will be a whole new adventure, and I\u2019m beyond thrilled to be coming back.\u201d<\/p>\n

BBC’s controller of comedy, Shane Allen, commented: \u201cFleabag<\/em> signaled the arrival of a hugely distinctive writer with the mesmerizing performing talent to match. Phoebe\u2019s career has shot up like a firework display in the last year and the show has been rightly hailed as a modern classic. It\u2019ll be thrilling to see where she takes the character in the next series.\u201d<\/p>\n
