A study conducted by the European Audiovisual Observatory has found that almost half of the European TV content on Netflix in the region hails from the U.K., with about 20 percent from France and 14 percent from Germany.<\/p>\n
This report looked at the Netflix slates in Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and the U.K. In total, the U.K. (44 percent), France and Germany account for 78 percent of all programming from EU member states on the eight Netflix catalogs studied.<\/p>\n
By title count, about 32 percent of Netflix\u2019s catalogs in those eight markets hail from the 28 EU member states. About 48 percent comes from the U.S., 19 percent from other international markets and 1 percent from non-EU European markets.<\/p>\n
The Observatory also analyzed the iTunes lineups in France, Germany and the United Kingdom. Those three markets accounted for 91.5 percent of EU content on the platform in the region\u201452 percent from the U.K., 22 percent from Germany and 17 percent from France.<\/p>\n
