The true-crime drama, written by Levi David Addai, also received the award for single drama.<\/p>\n<p>In the leading actress arena, Sarah Lancashire won the BAFTA for her performance in <em>Happy Valley<\/em>. The drama won a second BAFTA for drama series. The show&#8217;s writer, Sally Wainwright, won at the British Academy Television Craft Awards last month.<\/p>\n<p>Adeel Akhtar took home the BAFTA for leading actor for the one-off drama <em>Murdered by My Father<\/em>. In the supporting actor category, Tom Hollander took the win for <em>The Night Manager<\/em>. <em>National Treasure<\/em> beat out the competition to win in best miniseries.<\/p>\n<p>Phoebe Waller-Bridge won for female performance in a comedy program for <em>Fleabag<\/em>. Steve Coogan won male performance in the category <em>Alan Partridge&#8217;s Scissored Isle<\/em>. <em>People Just Do Nothing<\/em> took the win for scripted comedy.<\/p>\n<p>In the international category, the BAFTA was awarded to <em>The People v OJ Simpson: American Crime Story<\/em>. The award for soap and continuing drama went to <em>Emmerdale<\/em> for the second time.<\/p>\n<p>The BAFTA for entertainment performance was presented to Michael McIntyre for <em>Michael McIntyre\u2019s Big Show<\/em>, while the award for entertainment program went to <em>Ant &amp; Dec\u2019s Saturday Night Takeaway<\/em>. <em>Charlie Brooker\u2019s 2016 Wipe<\/em> won for comedy and comedy entertainment program.<\/p>\n<p>The BAFTA for reality and constructed factual was presented to <em>Muslims Like Us.<\/em> The long-running series <em>Who Do You Think You Are?<\/em> took the award in features.<\/p>\n<p>The award for news coverage went to <em>Victoria Derbyshire: Footballers\u2019 Abuse<\/em>. <em>Teenage Prison Abuse Exposed<\/em> (<em>Panorama<\/em>) received the BAFTA for current affairs.<\/p>\n<p><em>Exodus: Our Journey to Europe<\/em> received the honor for factual series. <em>Hillsborough<\/em> secured the award for single documentary, while the BAFTA for specialist factual went to<em> Planet Earth II<\/em>, which also received two BAFTAs at the British Academy Television Craft Awards.<\/p>\n<p>The Open took home the BAFTA for sport, while the award for live event was presented to The Queen\u2019s 90th Birthday Celebration.<\/p>\n<p>The Special Award was presented to Nick Fraser, who launched BBC\u2019s Storyville strand and has funded and developed hundreds of award-winning documentaries.
