The company extended its exclusive media rights to English football&#8217;s FA Cup and Community Shield in Sweden and Finland to also include Norway from this year and Denmark next year. The rights package will increase from 48 to 80 games next year.<\/p>\n<p>MTG also extended its exclusive media rights to the EFL Cup and EFL Championship in Sweden and Finland to include Norway and Denmark from the beginning of the 2017-18 season until the end of the 2021-22 season. The rights package for the EFL Cup knock-out tournament includes 30 games each season, while the EFL Championship consists of 46 rounds.<\/p>\n<p>MTG\u2019s club football coverage in the Nordics will now include the UEFA Champions League; England\u2019s Premier League, FA Cup, EFL Cup and EFL Championship; Spain\u2019s La Liga; Italy\u2019s Serie A; France\u2019s Ligue 1; and Denmark\u2019s Superliga. The coverage is available\u00a0on MTG\u2019s free-TV channels, Viasat networks\u00a0and Viaplay streaming service;\u00a0rights vary between territories.<\/p>\n<p>J\u00f8rgen Madsen Lindemann, MTG&#8217;s president and CEO, remarked: \u201cThis is even more great news for football fans in the Nordic countries, as the best possible year-round coverage of top English club football will be available through a single subscription for years to come. Our combined offering will bring fans even more coverage of their favourite teams and players than ever before.
