{"id":7624,"date":"2017-05-03T08:52:11","date_gmt":"2017-05-03T12:52:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tveurope\/showtime-brand-coming-to-france\/"},"modified":"2017-05-03T12:43:38","modified_gmt":"2017-05-03T16:43:38","slug":"showtime-brand-coming-to-france","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tveurope\/2017\/05\/03\/showtime-brand-coming-to-france\/","title":{"rendered":"Showtime Brand Coming to France"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Canal+ Group and CBS Corporation have inked an exclusive licensing and trademark agreement that brings the Showtime brand to France for the first time.<\/p>\n<p>Canal+ Group will now have the exclusive rights for at least ten current and future Showtime original series, including the highly anticipated continuation of <em>Twin Peaks<\/em>, the Wall Street drama <em>Billions<\/em> and <em>I&#8217;m Dying Up Here<\/em>, a new drama executive produced by Jim Carrey. The deal also includes the Showtime library with hundreds of hours of series, including <em>Ray Donovan<\/em>, <em>The Affair<\/em>,<em> Nurse Jackie<\/em>, <em>The Borgias<\/em>, <em>Californication<\/em> and <em>Dexter<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement marks a significant expansion of the Showtime brand in one of Europe\u2019s biggest media markets and will also bring Showtime programming to French-speaking Africa, Switzerland and Monaco.<\/p>\n<p>Maxime Saada, the CEO of CANAL+ Group, said: \u201cWe are very excited to further extend our long-standing partnership with CBS for Showtime original series, which have always been favorites among our subscribers ever since we started airing <em>Dexter<\/em> in 2007. We can only admire the quality and variety of their lineup and the great characters they create and feel thrilled and privileged to bring this to the broadest possible audiences in France.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Armando Nu\u00f1ez, the president and CEO of CBS Studios International, said: \u201cThe value and prestige of the Showtime brand continues to grow rapidly in the global marketplace, with this latest agreement a testament to the strength and quality of incredible programming being produced by Showtime.
