{"id":7446,"date":"2017-03-01T11:27:13","date_gmt":"2017-03-01T16:27:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tveurope\/mtg-extends-partnership-with-disney\/"},"modified":"2017-03-01T11:32:13","modified_gmt":"2017-03-01T16:32:13","slug":"mtg-extends-content-agreement-with-disney","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tveurope\/2017\/03\/01\/mtg-extends-content-agreement-with-disney\/","title":{"rendered":"MTG Extends Content Agreement with Disney"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>STOCKHOLM: MTG and The Walt Disney Company Nordic are continuing\u00a0their long-term content partnership, which includes the carriage of Disney Channel.<\/p>\n<p>Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD will continue to be carried on the Viasat pay-TV platform in the Nordic and Baltic regions, airing\u00a0such kids&#8217; programming as<em> Liv and Maddie<\/em>, <em>Ultimate Spider-Man<\/em> and <em>Doc McStuffins<\/em>. In addition, classic films such as <em>The Lion King<\/em>, <em>Beauty and the Beast<\/em>, <em>Cars<\/em> and <em>Wall-E<\/em> will be available through Disney Movies On Demand on Viaplay.<\/p>\n<p>Viaplay and Viasat Film subscribers in the Nordic region will have early access to world-leading content from Disney, including Marvel, Lucasfilm and Disney\/Pixar. Top-tier theatrical releases will be available in the first window for Viaplay and Viasat Film subs in the Nordic region. The deal\u00a0includes first-run theatrical Disney releases as well as global\u00a0box-office hits, such as <em>Rogue One: A Star Wars Story<\/em>, <em>Captain America: Civil War<\/em> and <em>Vaiana<\/em> on Viasat Film and Viaplay in the Nordics.<\/p>\n<p>ABC Studios On Demand on Viaplay will also give fans access to such new and returning shows as <em>Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/em>, <em>Criminal Minds<\/em>, <em>Scandal<\/em>, <em>Quantico<\/em> and <em>Marvel\u2019s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D<\/em>. Selected content will be available through Viaplay\u2019s offline service, allowing subscribers to watch\u00a0on the go.<\/p>\n<p>J\u00f8rgen Madsen Lindemann, MTG&#8217;s president and CEO, remarked: \u201cWe are very pleased to be extending our relationship with Disney. With a fantastic movie slate planned for the coming years, including new animated features, live-action theatricals and series within all Disney brands, extending this long-term agreement means our viewers can continue to enjoy the very best films, kids\u2019 content and series.
