{"id":7087,"date":"2016-10-03T11:07:32","date_gmt":"2016-10-03T15:07:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tveurope\/dave-orders-two-more-seasons-of-taskmaster\/"},"modified":"2016-10-03T14:15:03","modified_gmt":"2016-10-03T18:15:03","slug":"dave-orders-two-more-seasons-of-taskmaster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tveurope\/2016\/10\/03\/dave-orders-two-more-seasons-of-taskmaster\/","title":{"rendered":"Dave Orders Two More Seasons of Taskmaster"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LONDON: UKTV\u2019s entertainment channel Dave has renewed <em>Taskmaster<\/em> for a fourth and fifth season.<\/p>\n<p>The upcoming seasons of the series from Avalon Television will see the return of Greg Davies as the Taskmaster and Alex Horne, the show\u2019s creator, as his assistant. The series\u00a0looks on as Davies and Horne judge five new unwitting comedians who compete in a series of stupefying tasks. The orders for seasons four and five have been increased from five to eight episodes.<\/p>\n<p>Horne, who also serves as executive producer, said, \u201cAs the Taskmaster&#8217;s personal secretary and trainer I have been instructed to state that we&#8217;re both satisfied that a total of ten apparently intelligent comedians will be doing more stupid things stupidly for Mr. Davies. The Taskmaster has even bought me a caravan so this time I will be constantly on site to watch the desperate attempts and report back, before he ignores me and judges them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hilary Rosen, the deputy director of commissioning at UKTV, added, \u201cGreg and Alex are growing into an irresistible double act and it\u2019s a joy to watch the tasks unfold on each of the series. I\u2019m thrilled to commission not just one, but two new series for the channel and look forward to getting our next contestants lined up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jon Thoday, joint managing director of Avalon Television, commented, \u201cWe look forward to working with Dave on series four and five of <em>Taskmaster<\/em>\u2014the channel is a brilliant home for entertainment shows and we really appreciate their continued support.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Steve North, Dave\u2019s general manager, remarked, &#8220;<em>Taskmaster<\/em> just keeps getting bigger and better; I look forward to seeing what fresh hell Greg and Alex bring to the new unsuspecting contestants.
