LONDON: Justin Bodle and Remy Blumenfeld have put forth \u00a33 million ($4.3 million) to establish a new creative incubator, The Hot House.<\/p>\n

The Hot House is backed by the newly formed Purecom Entertainment International, Bodle’s media investment group. Purecom will invest in a diverse range of media companies, the first of which being The Hot House.<\/p>\n

The new venture is creatively based and not aligned to any super-indie, broadcaster, private equity fund or distribution group. The Hot House will provide a creative platform to work from and will initially offer up to ten creative teams the opportunity to launch their own labels. Former ITV Studios production manager Jo Juson has joined as head of production.<\/p>\n

Blumenfeld said: \u201cThe idea for The Hot House came out of conversations with friends and former colleagues who love developing, pitching and producing shows, but currently feel constrained. The U.K. is a recognized center of excellence for content creation, but there is little support out there for creative entrepreneurs. This is all about literally hot-housing talent for the first years until they are self-sustaining.\u201d<\/p>\n

Blumenfeld founded the TV production company Thinking Violets in 2013 and in 1991 co-founded the production Brighter Pictures, which he sold to Endemol in 2001. He has served on the creative boards of Endemol and ITV Studios, where he was director of formats, and has advised TF1.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Bodle founded the indie production house Power. He has produced more than 50 projects, including The Day of the Triffids<\/em>, Flood<\/em>, Colditz<\/em>, Archangel, XIII: The Conspiracy<\/em>, The Diplomat<\/em>, The Devil\u2019s Whore<\/em>, The Summit<\/em>, The Virgin Queen<\/em>, Henry VIII<\/em> and the 13-part network series Crusoe.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
