{"id":5576,"date":"2014-10-11T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-10-11T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tveurope\/2014\/10\/11\/mipcom-spotlight-all3media-international-3\/"},"modified":"2014-10-11T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2014-10-11T00:00:00","slug":"mipcom-spotlight-all3media-international-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tveurope\/2014\/10\/11\/mipcom-spotlight-all3media-international-3\/","title":{"rendered":"MIPCOM Spotlight: all3media international"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\tCANNES: The six-part series <em>Underground Britain<\/em>, a highlight from all3media international, takes the audience through secret labyrinths found below the ground in the U.K.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&ldquo;The show presents the quintessentially British landscape from a whole new perspective: the nation&rsquo;s most impressive natural and manmade underground landmarks,&rdquo; says Maartje Horchner, the head of acquisitions at all3media international.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe company is also showcasing the latest installment in the long-running <em>Gardeners&rsquo; World<\/em> franchise. &ldquo;With a high volume of over 90 episodes, the <em>Gardeners&rsquo; World<\/em> brand continues to grow,&rdquo; says Horchner. &ldquo;The series has become a recurring annual item in channels&rsquo; programming schedules around the globe.&rdquo; Also of note is the two-part <em>Ancient Mega Cities<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn formats, all3media is launching <em>Algorithm<\/em> at MIPCOM, where it will also be debuting the hidden-camera format <em>Bad Robots<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe prime-time game show <em>Algorithm<\/em> pits man against machine as family members attempt to prove that they know one of their relatives better than a computer does.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&ldquo;It&rsquo;s really interesting, as well as great fun, to see if a computer&rsquo;s algorithm can know a person&rsquo;s likes and dislikes better than their closest family members,&rdquo; says Nick Smith, VP of format sales at all3media international.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAnother highlight is <em>Are You Normal?<\/em>, which looks at the behavior of people in various situations. &ldquo;Even though <em>Are You Normal?<\/em> is a format that has been produced on three continents, it feels very much like a local show because it is centered on what is and isn&rsquo;t normal in your nation,&rdquo; Smith says.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tMeanwhile, the company&rsquo;s drama catalogue includes <em>The Missing<\/em>, in which the disappearance of 5-year-old Oliver while on holiday in France sets off a manhunt that will last for years to come.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&ldquo;<em>The Missing<\/em> has an international cast, gripping story lines, and is so real that anyone watching can believe this could have been them,&rdquo; says Peter Grant, the company&rsquo;s senior VP of international program sales.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<em>Indian Summers<\/em> is set in the 1930s against the backdrop of the Himalayas and tea plantations of Northern India. The story takes place during the dramatic last years of the British Empire in India.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThere&rsquo;s a second season of <em>The Village<\/em> available from all3media international as well. Grant says that the &ldquo;strong stories and great cast&rdquo; make this a top international seller.
