\n\tPARIS: Ahead of its planned September launch in France, Netflix has signed an agreement with Sacem (Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers of Music) that guarantees local creators compensation for featured content.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe pact assures payment to Sacem members whose works are used in programs available on Netflix in France. It ensures that the use of works from the authors of music, sketches, dubbing, subtitling, the composers, directors and publishers that it represents is properly authorized prior to the launch of the service in France.<\/p>\n

\n\tJean-Noël Tronc, the CEO of Sacem, commented: "The signature of this agreement with Netflix before it starts in France strongly demonstrates Sacem’s commitment to be highly reactive and to provide the proper remuneration of the creators in the digital environment. Authors’ rights and collective rights management are more than ever efficient tools which give effective support to the continuously growing online offer of cultural contents by services such Netflix.”<\/p>\n

\tBryony Gagan, the VP of business and legal affairs at Netflix, said: "As the world’s leading Internet TV network, Netflix is a creative business and we respect and admire creators.
