LONDON: The BBC’s director general, Lord Hall, is the most influential person in British TV, according to the MediaGuardian, ranking third overall on the newspaper’s power list, ahead of Rupert Murdoch<\/a> and Amazon’s Jeff Bezos.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Lord Hall, a new entry, was number one in the television sector, followed by Rupert Murdoch, the chairman and chief executive of 21st Century Fox and executive chairman of News Corp, who ranks eighth overall. Number three in the TV sector is Danny Cohen (11), the director of BBC Television. Peter Fincham (12), the director of television at ITV, ranks fourth, followed by Jeremy Darroch<\/a> (13), the chief executive of BSkyB. Simon Cowell<\/a> (14) ranks sixth in his influence on British television. ITV’s Adam Crozier<\/a> (15) is number seven, BBC Trust’s Lord Patten (16) number eight, Shine Group’s Elisabeth Murdoch<\/a> (17) number nine and BBC One controller Charlotte Moore (19), a new entry, rounds out the power 10 in the TV list.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
