{"id":4812,"date":"2013-08-22T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-08-22T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tveurope\/2013\/08\/22\/bbc-two-bbc-four-make-several-new-commissions\/"},"modified":"2013-08-22T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2013-08-22T00:00:00","slug":"bbc-two-bbc-four-make-several-new-commissions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tveurope\/2013\/08\/22\/bbc-two-bbc-four-make-several-new-commissions\/","title":{"rendered":"BBC Two, BBC Four Make Several New Commissions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">LONDON: BBC Two and BBC Four have ordered a number of tentatively titled series spanning such genres as drama, factual and comedy.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><font face=\"Verdana\">Titles headed to BBC Two include <em>37 Days<\/em>, a factual drama starring&nbsp;Ian McDiarmid, Sinead Cusack, Tim Pigott-Smith, Bill Paterson and Kenneth Cranham; <em>Idris Elba: King of Speed<\/em>, a documentary about car racing; <em>Countdown to the Rains<\/em>, hosted by&nbsp;Kate Humble and Simon King; and <em>Ian Hislop&#8217;s Olden Days: The Power of the Past in Britain<\/em>, a three-part factual series. There is also <em>Grow, Make, Eat: The Great Allotment Challenge<\/em>, presented by Fern Britton; <em>Cats<\/em>, a three-parter focused on felines; and <em>Napoleon<\/em>, which profiles the controversial leader. In addition, BBC Two is set to air a two-hour archive comedy special.<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">BBC Four has lined up the factual series <em>The Lost World of Rapa Nui<\/em>, <em>The Private Lives of Medieval Britain<\/em>, <em>Art of Australia<\/em> and <em>Art of China<\/em>, led by Jago Cooper, Helen Castor, Edmund Capon and Andrew Graham-Dixon, respectively. The channel has also commissioned <em>Rock Ratatouille<\/em>, a comedy music documentary, and <em>Amber<\/em>, a four-part psychological drama.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">Other programming commissioned by the networks include a new season of <em>Eighteenth Century<\/em>, <em>Messiah at the Foundling Hospital<\/em>, <em>Hanoverians: The First Georges<\/em> and <em>Cloud Lab<\/em>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">Janice Hadlow, BBC Two and BBC Four controller, commented: &quot;This has been another fantastic year for BBC Two, winning Broadcast Channel of the Year and MGEITF Channel of the Year.
