He was first hired by the company in 2000 as group controller for the broadband department. Throughout his career he has contributed to a host of integration and acquisition activities involving France&#8217;s Noos and Switzerland&#8217;s upc cablecom.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">Ternsj&ouml; was recently named managing director of UPC Ireland. He has spent more than a decade working for the Liberty Global group and has been in the pay-TV industry for twice as long.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">Diederik Karsten, the executive VP of Liberty Global&#8217;s European broadband operations, stated: &quot;Both Magnus and Michael are ideally positioned to take their new roles at UPC Ireland and UPC DTH as they have many years of experience and a proven track record at Liberty Global as well as in the media and communications industry. Under Magnus&#8217; leadership UPC DTH has year on year achieved double digit growth on most key metrics. I see Michael as an excellent successor to continue on this path.
