Kavanagh takes up the new role later this year. He will report to Danny Cohen, the controller of BBC&nbsp;One. He will be responsible for all daytime commissioning across BBC&nbsp;One and BBC Two, as well as <em>The One Show<\/em> and 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on BBC&nbsp;Two. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">Kavanagh said: &ldquo;It was a very difficult decision to leave Channel 4 but BBC Daytime has a unique range of top quality content, from <em>The One Show<\/em> to programs like <em>Father Brown<\/em>, <em>Pointless<\/em> and <em>Great Railway Journeys<\/em>. I really can&rsquo;t wait to get started.&rdquo;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">Cohen added: &quot;Damian has a fantastic blend of editorial and scheduling experience and he&rsquo;s a team player.
