{"id":4449,"date":"2013-01-31T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-01-31T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tveurope\/2013\/01\/31\/sky-scores-sony-movies\/"},"modified":"2013-01-31T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2013-01-31T00:00:00","slug":"sky-scores-sony-movies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tveurope\/2013\/01\/31\/sky-scores-sony-movies\/","title":{"rendered":"Sky Scores Sony Movies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">LONDON: A new agreement with Sony Pictures Television sees films such as <em>Men in Black 3<\/em>, <em>The Amazing Spider-Man<\/em> and <em>Django Unchained <\/em>coming to Sky Movies before any other TV&nbsp;network or subscription service in the U.K. and Ireland.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">Sky Movies becomes the first stop to screen movies from Sony Pictures, including the upcoming releases <em>Smurfs 2<\/em>, <em>This is the End <\/em>and <em>After Earth<\/em>. The Sony Pictures&#8217; new releases will head to Sky around six months after their cinema run has ended. Once on Sky Movies, the titles will be exclusive for at least a year. The pact also includes classic films from the Sony Pictures library, including <em>The Da Vinci Code<\/em> and <em>Bad Santa<\/em>, which are available on an exclusive basis while they are on the service. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">The two have also agreed to a non-exclusive deal for pay-per-movies. These will be available through Sky Movies Box Office and on demand through Sky Store. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">Ian Lewis, the director of Sky Movies, commented: &ldquo;We&rsquo;re delighted to have secured Sony Pictures content for our customers, further extending our leadership in movies. We are committed to providing our customers with the biggest and best movies, available to watch when and how they want. That&rsquo;s why Sky Movies customers enjoy access to the biggest movies first, in HD, on demand, on the go and in 3D.
