{"id":3720,"date":"2012-01-09T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2012-01-09T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tveurope\/2012\/01\/09\/bbc-worldwide-lands-digital-deals-in-spain\/"},"modified":"2012-01-09T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2012-01-09T00:00:00","slug":"bbc-worldwide-lands-digital-deals-in-spain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tveurope\/2012\/01\/09\/bbc-worldwide-lands-digital-deals-in-spain\/","title":{"rendered":"BBC Worldwide Lands Digital Deals in Spain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">LONDON: BBC Worldwide has secured a range of content deals with the Spanish digital platforms Telefonica, Youzee and Cameo.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">Cameo has acquired almost 170 hours of content from BBC Worldwide for its VOD platform Filmin, including the comedy and drama titles <em>Katy Brand&#8217;s Big Ass Show<\/em>, <em>The Thick of It<\/em>, <em>The Shadow Line<\/em>, <em>Life on Mars<\/em> and <em>Wallander<\/em>. Telefonica has launched its new VOD service with more than 260 hours of BBC Worldwide content across drama, documentary and children&rsquo;s, featuring seasons one through six of <em>Doctor Who<\/em>, season one of <em>Sherlock<\/em>, seasons one and two of <em>Misfits<\/em> and <em>Torchwood: Miracle Day<\/em>. In addition, the children&rsquo;s program <em>Charlie &amp; Lola <\/em>and the factual titles <em>Amazon with Bruce Parry<\/em>, <em>Polar Bear: Spy on the Ice<\/em>, <em>Earth Under Water<\/em> and <em>Louis Theroux: Hunting<\/em>, are also available through Telefonica. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">BBC Worldwide will be a launch partner for the new VOD platform Youzee, supplying 65 hours of content across comedy and drama. Titles available include the Ricky Gervais comedy series <em>Extras<\/em>, seasons one and two of the Emmy-nominated drama <em>Luther<\/em>, <em>Upstairs Downstairs<\/em> and <em>Pride &amp; Prejudice<\/em>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">Gary Woolf, the VP of business development and digital sales and distribution at BBC Worldwide, commented, &ldquo;Digital sales are a key focus for our business and these Spanish deals are further evidence of the growth we continue to see throughout EMEA and globally.&rdquo;  <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LONDON: BBC Worldwide has secured a range of content deals with the Spanish digital platforms Telefonica, Youzee and Cameo.
