BBC Studios TalentWorks has unveiled two new recruits for its Creator in Residence program, playwright and comedy screenwriter Liz Daramola and actor Hammed Animashaun, who will both focus on scripted projects.<\/p>\n
Daramola has joined Baby Cow Productions, a BBC Studios production label, for a six-month placement to develop new original TV content. When she was part of Soho Theatre\u2019s Writers Lab, she developed her debut play Bonhomi\u00e9<\/em>, which was shortlisted for the Tony Craze Award in 2020 and long listed for the Mustapha Matura Award in 2021. In 2020, she was part of Edinburgh TV Festival\u2019s The Network, and in 2021, she joined the Royal Court Writers\u2019 Group and BBC London Voices. She is currently writing on Frogbox\u2019s PJ Masks<\/em> for Disney.<\/p>\n \u201cI’m delighted to join Baby Cow as the new Creator in Residence,\u201d Daramola said. \u201cIt\u2019s always been a dream of mine to create content with one of the U.K.\u2019s leading production companies. He has worked in television, film and theater, with credits that include series such as BBC Studios Comedy Productions\u2019 Black Ops<\/em>, Amazon Studios\u2019 The Wheel of Time<\/em>, Paramount\u2019s Time Bandits<\/em>; films such as The Loneliest Boy in the World<\/em> and Film 4 and Fudge Park\u2019s The Festival<\/em>; and theater productions ranging from A Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream<\/em>, The Three Penny Opera<\/em>, Master Harold<\/em> and Barbershop Chronicles<\/em> at the National Theatre and The Producers<\/em> at Manchester\u2019s Royal Exchange.<\/p>\n \u201cI can\u2019t find the words to describe how excited and blessed I am to be a part of this program!\u201d Animashaun said. \u201cI can\u2019t wait to hopefully create something special and extremely funny!
