Netflix and Paramount+ have commissioned more first-run originals out of the U.K. than the other global streamers this year, per a new study by Ampere Analysis.<\/p>\n
Netflix is the market leader with 16 first-run commissions from the U.K. this year so far. Paramount+, which just arrived in the market, has 13 U.K. commissions this year so far. Discovery+ has just had six, with Prime Video at five, Apple TV+ at three and Disney+ at two.<\/p>\n
The crime\/thriller genre leads the Paramount+ U.K. slate, Ampere says, accounting for seven out of this year’s 13 original commissions.<\/p>\n
