H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, the festival\u2019s honorary president, will bestow the International Golden Nymph for Most Promising Talent to French actor Th\u00e9o Christine (<em>War of the Worlds<\/em>, <em>SKAM<\/em>, <em>Supr\u00eames<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>The world premiere of the first two episodes of the new thriller <em>Last Light<\/em>, produced by MGM International TV Productions in association with Peacock, Viaplay, MBC Group and Stan, will follow. It is based on Alex Scarrow\u2019s novel and stars Matthew Fox (<em>Lost<\/em>), Joanne Froggatt (<em>Downton Abbey<\/em>, <em>Liar<\/em>, <em>Angela Black<\/em>) and Tom Wlaschiha (<em>Game of Thrones<\/em>). Dennie Gordon (<em>Jack Ryan<\/em>) directs.<\/p>\n<p>The Golden Nymph Awards will take place at the Grimaldi Forum on June 21, hosted by Miss France 2021 Amandine Petit and magician, comedian, actor and author Eric Antoine. The selection includes 21 programs from 12 countries in the fiction category, the news and documentaries category and the Prince Rainier III Special Prize category.<\/p>\n<p>The nominees in the fiction category are <em>A Private Affair<\/em> (<em>Un asunto privado<\/em>) from Spain\u2019s Bamb\u00fa Producciones; <em>Ida\u2019s Novel<\/em> (<em>Ida Reg\u00e9nye<\/em>) from Hungary\u2019s Film Positive Productions; <em>Made in Oslo<\/em> from Norway\u2019s Tordenfilm and Nordic Entertainment Group\u2019s Viaplay; <em>Martha Liebermann<\/em> from Germany\u2019s Ziegler Film &amp; Co. KG; <em>The Offer<\/em> from the U.S.\u2019s Paramount Television Studios; <em>The Terminal List<\/em> from the U.S.\u2019s Amazon Studios, Civic Center Media and MRC Television; <em>The Tourist<\/em> from the U.K.\u2019s Two Brothers Pictures; <em>Trom<\/em> from the Faroe Islands\u2019 REinvent Studios and co-produced by KYK, Pictures, Truenorth and ZDF\/Arte; and <em>Vincenzo Malinconico, Avvocato d&#8217;Insuccesso<\/em> from Italy\u2019s Viola Film and Rai Fiction.<\/p>\n<p>The official selection for the news and documentaries category includes <em>China: The Uighur Tragedy<\/em> from France\u2019s D\u00e9coupages and Yuzu Productions; <em>CNA Correspondent: Wildlife Trafficking in North Sulawesi<\/em> from Singapore\u2019s Mediacorp; <em>Erasmus in Gaza<\/em> from Spain\u2019s Arpa Films; <em>Lucy and Desi<\/em> from the U.S.\u2019s Amazon Studios, Imagine Documentaries and White Horse Pictures in association with Paper Kite Productions and Diamond Docs; <em>Navalny\u2014The Man Putin Couldn&#8217;t Kill<\/em> from the U.K.\u2019s True Vision; <em>Syrie, des femmes dans la guerre<\/em>\u00a0a French-Syrian co-production by Capa Presse; T<em>he Adventures of Saul Bellow<\/em> from Israel\u2019s Ingenue Productions; <em>Undercover Asia\u2014China\u2019s Pet Economy<\/em> from Singapore\u2019s Mediacorp; and <em>Zelensky: Le clown devenu chef de guerre<\/em> from France\u2019s France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions.<\/p>\n<p>The nominees for the Prince Rainier III Special Prize are the French titles <em>Les \u00e9claireurs de l&#8217;eau<\/em> from J2F Production and LSD Films; <em>M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e: L&#8217;odyss\u00e9e pour la vie<\/em> from Bor\u00e9ales, Federation Entertainment, Terra Mater Factual Studios, Fabula Pictures and Anemon Productions; and <em>Sur le Front: Quand le d\u00e9sert avance<\/em> from Winter Productions and France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions.<\/p>\n<p>This year will see the inaugural Prix du Public award as well, in partnership with BetaSeries, which gives fans the opportunity to participate and reward a program.<\/p>\n<p>The presidents of the juries are American actor and producer Neal McDonough for the fiction category and Jill Tiefenthaler, CEO of National Geographic, for the news and documentaries section.<\/p>\n<p>From June 18 to 20, the festival will host a lineup of business-focused panels as part of its Business Content strand.<\/p>\n<p>Laurent Puons concluded, \u201cAfter two years affected by the global health crisis, the festival has returned to the highest international level with a very strong competition which includes many world premieres. The digital platforms have reconfirmed their commitment, and we are looking forward to an extremely exciting edition in June.
