Gaumont has landed in Italy, with the appointment of Marco Rosi as general manager, headquartered in Rome.<\/p>\n
Gaumont is already present in the U.S., the U.K., Germany and France. The expansion will see its new Italian operation focused on Italian-language TV series, including a foray into movies.<\/p>\n
Series currently in progress include a murder mystery set within the walls of the Vatican, developed in collaboration with Elsinore Film and written by director Fausto Brizzi (Notte prima degli esami<\/em>, Ex, Maschi contro femmine<\/em>, Forever Young<\/em>) and screenwriter Paola Mammini (Perfetti Sconosciuti<\/em>; Mio fratello, mia sorella<\/em>; Tutta colpa di Freud\u2014Il film<\/em>). The second project is a drama series based on E verr\u00e0 un altro inverno<\/em>, the latest book by Massimo Carlotto. It is written by Carlotto together with Claudia De Angelis (La Belva<\/em>), Giovanni Galassi, Tommaso Matano and Ivano Fachin (Sopravvissuti\u2014Survivors<\/em>, Curon<\/em>). There is also an LGBTQIA+ dramedy that marks the debut of young writer Alessandra Maffiolini, who will co-write with the director Paola Randi (La Befana vien di notte II\u2014Le<\/em> origini<\/em>,\u00a0Tito e gli alieni<\/em>,\u00a0Luna Nera<\/em>,\u00a0Zero<\/em>).<\/p>\n Marco Rosi joins Gaumont from Lux Vide, where he served as head of international co-productions, contributing to such titles as, Medici<\/em>, Devils<\/em> and Leonardo<\/em>. Prior to Lux Vide, he led the programming efforts of both linear and nonlinear channels at Fox International Channels Italy and Turner Broadcasting Italy groups.<\/p>\n Rosi will lead a dedicated team across development and production and will report directly to Christophe Riandee, vice CEO of Gaumont.<\/p>\n Riandee commented: \u201cWe are excited to expand our footprint in Italy and thrilled to become a home for Italian talents.
