Bray Film Studios in the U.K. has been granted planning permission for a major expansion.<\/p>\n
The multi-million-pound scheme has received a resolution to grant permission from the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. The expansion of the 70-year-old facility includes nine new soundstages,\u00a0workshops, production support facilities and the permanent retention of a rehearsal building. The studio is located on the banks of the River Thames, 26 miles from Central London. It expects to benefit from\u00a0more than \u00a31 billion production spend over the next decade.\u00a0The expansion will generate close to 1,500 direct jobs both on- and off-site.<\/p>\n

Bray is best known as the original home of Hammer horror films, including The Curse of Frankenstein<\/em>, Dracula<\/em>\u00a0and The Mummy<\/em>. The Rocky Horror Picture Show<\/em>, Inspector Morse<\/em>\u00a0and Agatha Christie\u2019s Poirot<\/em> were also shot at Bray.
