Disney+ has announced the latest addition to its growing slate of European originals, commissioning the U.K. romantic comedy action thriller Wedding Season<\/em> as a Star original.<\/p>\n

Dancing Ledge Productions is producing the eight-part series in association with JAX Media, with a script penned by creator Oliver Lyttelton, who is also executive producing.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we first read Oli\u2019s brilliant scripts for Wedding Season<\/em> we laughed out loud\u2014and we were desperate to find out what happened next,” said Johanna Devereaux, director of scripted content for EMEA at The Walt Disney Company. “It\u2019s an addictive, genre-defying series packed with twists and turns.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dancing Ledge’s Chris Carey, executive producer, added, \u201cDancing Ledge is dedicated to nurturing new talent and, having started working with Oli early on in his career, we are delighted to now be teaming up with Disney and our producing partners JAX Media to bring his playful, big-hearted and wickedly funny Wedding Season<\/em> scripts to the screen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lyttleton added, “I can\u2019t imagine a better home for a show this surprising and ambitious than Star on Disney+. I\u2019m also grateful that the production schedule still allows for me to go to five separate weddings before the end of the year.\u201d<\/p>\n
