The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has revealed the winners of this year\u2019s Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards, which saw I May Destroy You<\/em> scoring double wins.<\/p>\n

Following its three wins at the British Academy Television Craft Awards in May, I May Destroy You<\/em> won two more BAFTAs, for Mini-Series and Leading Actress for Michaela Coel.<\/p>\n

The Leading Actor nod went to first-time nominee Paul Mescal for his performance in Normal People<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Malachi Kirby, also a first-time winner, won for his performance in Small Axe<\/em> in the Supporting Actor category. Rakie Ayola won her first BAFTA for Supporting Actress for her performance in Anthony<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Also a first-time nominee, Aimee Lou Wood won in Female Performance in a Comedy Programme for Sex Education<\/em>. Male Performance in a Comedy Programme was awarded to Charlie Cooper for his performance in This Country<\/em>. Romesh Ranganathan received the BAFTA for Entertainment Performance for The Ranganation<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Save Me Too<\/em> won the BAFTA for Drama Series and Sitting in Limbo won for Single Drama. Casualty<\/em> scored the BAFTA for Soap & Continuing Drama. The Great House Giveaway<\/em> won the BAFTA in the new Daytime category.<\/p>\n

The Big Narstie Show<\/em> was the winner in the category for Comedy Entertainment Programme. The BAFTA for Entertainment Programme was awarded to Life & Rhymes<\/em>. Scripted Comedy was awarded to Inside No 9<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The BAFTA for Reality & Constructed Factual went to The School That Tried to End Racism<\/em>. Long Lost Family: Born Without Trace<\/em> won in the Features category. They Saw the Sun First<\/em> won the BAFTA for Short Form Programme.<\/p>\n

News Coverage was awarded to Sky News\u2019 Inside Idlib<\/em>, and the award for Current Affairs was presented to America\u2019s War on Abortion<\/em> (Exposure). The International Award was presented to Welcome to Chechnya: The Gay Purge<\/em> (Storyville).<\/p>\n

Once Upon a Time in Iraq<\/em> received the BAFTA for Factual Series, Locked In: Breaking the Silence<\/em> (Storyville) won Single Documentary and The Surgeon\u2019s Cut<\/em> won Specialist Factual. England V West Indies Test Cricket triumphed in the Sport category, while the award for Live Event was presented to Springwatch 2020.<\/p>\n
