Netflix has donated \u00a3600,000 ($775,000) to the Film and TV Charity\u2019s latest COVID-19 recovery fund in the U.K.<\/p>\n
Launched last month, the scheme is meant to help film, TV and cinema workers in the U.K. that have been hit hardest by the outbreak, providing them with financial and wellbeing support to help sustain them and their careers for up to six months. It is also intended to assist and protect diverse emerging talent and underrepresented groups already facing barriers to staying in the industry, including Black, Asian and minority ethnic creatives; women; those living outside of London; and people with a disability.<\/p>\n
Netflix has now donated a total of \u00a31.75 million to the Film and TV Charity since the start of the pandemic.<\/p>\n
Anne Mensah, VP of original scripted series at Netflix, said: \u201cNetflix owes so much to the electricians, carpenters, makeup artists, camera crews and others that make our productions possible. That\u2019s why we have been proud to support the Film and TV Charity\u2019s incredible efforts to see the industry through these difficult times.<\/p>\n
