Discovery Germany has reached an agreement to acquire the general-entertainment network TELE 5 from Leonine.<\/p>\n

The two companies have also sealed a long-term program-supply agreement that allows Discovery Germany to access Leonine’s library of scripted content. TELE 5 joins a portfolio at Discovery Germany that includes DMAX, TLC, Eurosport and HGTV.<\/p>\n

Susanne Aigner, managing director of Discovery Germany, noted, “TELE 5 with its films and series complements our multiplatform offer of factual entertainment and sports content with a new fictional component. This enables us to tap new target audience groups and expand our marketing potential with the reach of TELE 5. In addition, the content agreement concluded guarantees long-term access to the fiction library of Leonine.
