Joining the cast is two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali (<em>Green Book<\/em>, <em>True Detective<\/em>, <em>House of Cards<\/em>), who plays a sheik who serves as Ramy\u2019s new spiritual mentor. The first-generation, Egyptian-American is on a spiritual journey in his politically-divided New Jersey neighborhood. In the second two, Ramy delves further into this journey, finding a new Muslim community and embracing a deeper commitment to his faith. The new season will bow on StarzPlay on August 6.<\/p>\n<p><em>Ramy<\/em>, produced by A24, debuted as the Audience Award Winner at the 2019 SXSW Festival.
