Jennifer Perrott has been directing <em>Gentleman Jack<\/em>, a forthcoming BBC One\/HBO historical drama series created by Sally Wainwright. Jamie Childs, who directed Jodie Whittaker\u2019s reveal as the Thirteenth Doctor, returns for the opening episode of the new season. Sallie Aprahamian has been directing TV for more than two decades with credits such as <em>Extremely Dangerous<\/em>, <em>The Sins<\/em>, <em>Real Men<\/em>\u00a0and <em>This Life<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The writers include Malorie Blackman, who has written 60-plus books for children and young adults, and her book <em>Pig-Heart Boy<\/em> was adapted into a BAFTA-winning TV serial. Ed Hime was nominated for a Craft BAFTA for his first episode of <em>Skins<\/em>. Playwright and screenwriter Vinay Patel\u2019s television debut, <em>Murdered By My Father<\/em>, won the 2016 Royal Television Society Award and was nominated for three BAFTAs. Pete McTighe is the originating writer of <em>Wentworth<\/em>. Joy Wilkinson&#8217;s TV scripts include the BBC five-parter <em>The Life and Adventures of Nick Nickleby<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Showrunner Chris Chibnall said: \u201cWe have a team of writers who\u2019ve been working quietly and secretly for a long time now, crafting characters, worlds and stories to excite and move you. A set of directors who stood those scripts up on their feet, bringing those ideas, visuals and emotions into existence with bravura and fun.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHailing from a range of backgrounds, tastes and styles, here\u2019s what unites them: they are awesome people as well as brilliant at their job.
