The series will be distributed by STUDIOCANAL.<\/p>\n<p>A character-driven thriller set in Berlin, <em>Shadow Play<\/em> centers on the story of Max McLaughlin, an American cop who arrives in the city in the summer of 1946 to help create a police force in the chaotic aftermath of the war. Max\u2019s goal is to take down \u201cEnglemacher\u201d Gladow, the Capone of post-war Berlin. At the same time, Max undertakes a secret crusade to find his missing brother, who is killing ex-Nazis in hiding. However, Max is completely unaware that he is being used as a pawn in what is the very beginning of the Cold War.<\/p>\n<p>M\u00e5rlind will write all eight episodes and direct four alongside his directing partner, Bj\u00f6rn Stein (<em>6 Souls<\/em>, <em>Midnight Sun<\/em>). Executive producers are M\u00e5rlind, Rola Bauer (<em>Take Two<\/em>, <em>The Pillars of the Earth<\/em>), Jonas Bauer (<em>Spotless<\/em>, <em>The Company<\/em>), Tim Halkin (<em>World Without End<\/em>, <em>Labyrinth<\/em>), Jim Gillespie (<em>World Without End<\/em>, <em>I Know What You Did Last Summer<\/em>), and BRON\u2019s Aaron L. Gilbert, Steven Thibault and David Davoli (<em>Fences<\/em>, <em>Tully<\/em>, <em>The Birth of a Nation<\/em>, <em>Beatriz at Dinner<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Bauer, managing director\/partner at STUDIOCANAL TV, said, \u201cWe are thrilled to be collaborating with BRON Studios, who also embrace this vivid and thought-provoking drama from the talented M\u00e5ns M\u00e5rlind.
