Williams, Vera Farmiga and John Leguizamo have joined the cast of<em>\u00a0Central Park Five<\/em>, a limited series that Ava DuVernay is writing and directing for Netflix.<\/p>\n<p>The four-part production, set to launch on the streaming platform in 2019, is based on the real-life case of five teens from Harlem convicted of a rape they did not commit. The episodes will focus on Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana and Korey Wise and span the period from spring of 1989, when they were first questioned by authorities, to 2014, when they were exonerated and reached a settlement with the city of New York.<\/p>\n<p>Williams (<em>The Wire<\/em>, <em>The Night Of<\/em>) and Leguizamo (<em>Bloodline<\/em>, <em>John Wick<\/em>) will star as fathers of two of the accused teens. Farmiga (<em>Up in the Air<\/em>, <em>Bates Motel<\/em>) will play Elizabeth Lederer, the Manhattan Assistant District Attorney and lead prosecutor on the case.<\/p>\n<p>Jeff Skoll and Jonathan King from Participant Media, Oprah Winfrey\/Harpo Films, Jane Rosenthal and Berry Welsh from Tribeca Productions and DuVernay will executive produce the limited series.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Michael K.
