Sonar Entertainment is highlighting the 8×1-hour WWII drama Das Boot<\/em>, inspired by the novel and 1981 film.<\/p>\n

The series is \u201cexpanded to tell the heroic and human stories of men and women on land and sea in 1942 German-occupied France,\u201d explains David Ellender, the company\u2019s president of global distribution and co-productions. English, German and French languages are used throughout the co-production, which comes from Sonar, Bavaria Fiction and Sky Deutschland. \u201cDas Boot<\/em> is a template for how to optimize the potential of a high-end international co-production both from a business and creative perspective,\u201d he adds.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe L.A. Screenings is an important step in unveiling this series for the first time to program buyers from around the world,\u201d says Ellender. \u201cSince the initial announcement of the project some 15 months ago, there has consistently been strong interest from the international TV community.
